Xavier Desert: The first evolution is cosmological and concerns the physical and chemical nature of the Universe. The second evolution is DNA-based life on Earth. The third evolution clearly involves (but is not necessarily centred on) humankind. This topic is seldom discussed in public places. I believe it is time to have a serious, scientific handling of that fundamental question. I express myself as a citizen of France, Europe and the world. In no way do the expressed views involve the Univ. Grenoble Alpes, my employer.
